Jurgen Klopp Still Keen on Top Four but can Liverpool Make It?

Liverpool seems to be in contention for a top four spot following Jurgen Klopp’s unwavering enthusiasm as the Anfield boss revealed that the Reds still have a lot to play for.

According to the thesportreview, In an interview with the LiverpoolEcho Jurgen Klopp gave a keen insight into Liverpool’s approach to the final games of the season.

“There is still so much to play for,” Klopp told the ECHO.

“April will be busy, but we are used to playing this many games.

“We will have to make some hard decisions over the lineup.

“Before Southampton, we had Firmino out and Hendo ill – that can be a problem.

“We have a big squad, so it’s good for us to have this many games in April. Everyone will be important. We have to fight really through this time.

“There are no easy games. But if we are all together then you have seen how we can play.”

Alongside Liverpool’s top four hopes, they still have a Europa League fixture against Klopp’s former employers Borussia Dortmund in what should prove to be a tricky two-legged tie for the Reds.

Thomas Tuchel will be keen on getting one over Jurgen Klopp as the later is Still regarded as a legend at the Signal Iduna Park.

A win against Dortmund will put Liverpool on course for securing Europa League glory, after which they won’t need to finish within the top four to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition.

But for now, I reckon that Klopp is keen on UCL qualification via both portals as putting his focus in one competition could prove costly for the Reds.

Regarding a top four finish, Liverpool have the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and West Ham to contend with.

West Ham are currently on a high, and it will take something special to put their Champions League ambitions on hold as Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini seem to be relishing the prospect of going to the Olympic Stadium with UCL football.

This season has been somewhat of an introductory one for Jurgen Klopp, and the real test is set to begin next season although Klopp will be keen on playing Champions League football in his first full season as Liverpool boss.

Having failed to bring the Capital One Cup to Anfield, Klopp will be hoping he can still salvage something for the Reds and put a smile on the faces of the Liverpool fans.

As it stands Liverpool still have a game in hand, they’ll be hoping they can capitalise on that pending fixture to close in on the top four.

The loss against Southampton in their last Premier League outing put a massive dent in their top four chances but with a handful of games remaining before the climax of the season the Reds might just find themselves playing UCL football next season.

Klopp will be looking towards the Brazilian duo of Coutinho and Firmino to put up the emphatic showings that would carry Liverpool in the top four.

By the looks of things, Klopp is far from walking alone as he has the full backing of the Liverpool fans ahead of what is set to be a dramatic end to the League campaign.
