My name is Gary Gambino and I am honored to be The Sports Courant's newest contributor as well as the only one who hails from the Eastern time zone. I've been pecking opinion-based sports stuff on the Internet off and on since April of 1995. Also, I have dabbled in print journalism, having worked part-time for publications in greater Louisville and Southern Indiana.

I am a big fan of the Cowboys and Colts, Pacers [not so much since Reggie left and the punks arrived] and Jazz, Reds and Red Sox, and as a graduate of the University of Louisville, I feel it is my patriotic duty to despise the University of Kentucky as much as humanly possible. Although the Wildcats have won seven NCAA basketball titles -- three of them happening in my lifetime -- they are arguably the most corrupt program in collegiate athletics and I will diss them whenever possible.

In order to make my life more interesting, I am engaged to a gorgeous redhead who happens to be a diehard Kentucky fan.
