3 Reasons Why Declan Rice Should Become a Blue

Date:

Frank Lampard’s Chelsea has been very active during this summer transfer window. The blues have spent the most money in Europe till now shelling out more than £200 million to sign new players this season. Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner, Thiago Silva and Hakim Ziyech have already joined Stamford Bridge outfit, and it looks like Declan Rice will follow suit as well. Today, we look at why should he join Chelsea.

Unsettled West Ham

The Hammers are not in a good situation for some time now. Issues with the owners, managers, board members, fan’s outrage, and transfer failures all have disrupted the flow of one of the oldest clubs in London. David Moyes is at the helm, but not many people have the trust that he can steady this sinking ship. Their opening game defeat to Newcastle must be an indication of what to come in the future.

Perfect fit for Chelsea

Chelsea have boosted their attack and will probably sign a goalkeeper early next week. Last piece of the jigsaw? A defensive midfielder. Last season, the former champions conceded most goals in the top half of the Premier League table. The goalkeeper, defence and the midfield all were to blame for this. Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, all might feature in the starting XI. This increases huge doubt that who would sit deep with N’Golo Kante at the base of the midfield.

Time for the next step?

After debuting against Burnley on the last day of the season 2016-17, Declan Rice has always seen upwards. Next season, he was named as the runner up for “The Hammer of the Year” award. Since the past three seasons, Rice has made his spot permanent in the West Ham side. He has also represented his nation England many times under Gareth Southgate.

But with things not that great at West Ham, it can be a perfect time for the young lad to switch to Chelsea. Player of his talent deserves to play in Europe. By joining Chelsea, he would become a very important part of Frank Lampard’s new vision. His chances of playing will also increase along with all the fame and opportunities he will derive at Stamford Bridge. We do believe, its time for Declan Rice to take this big step for the betterment of his career.
