Right now, two of the best players in the Premiership—Eden Hazard and Harry Kane—are being linked with a move to Real Madrid. In fact, all the best players in England eventually leave their respective clubs for the best clubs in the world: Real Madrid and Barcelona. Gareth Bale left for Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur, Luka Modric did the same too.
Luis Suarez left Liverpool for Barcelona and Philippe Coutinho also did exactly the same and there is a good chance that Harry Kane will be another addition to the list. It is almost as though the Premier League is the hunting ground for the big two of the world. Real Madrid, in particular, just love to circle around Tottenham Hotspur.
After acquiring Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, they seem to be keen on Harry Kane—and here are 3 things that could happen should Harry Kane leave Spurs…
1. Harry Kane Will Leave Unfillable Void
How can you replace someone who scores 30+ goals for you every season? You just can’t. The fact is, Harry Kane is completely irreplaceable for Spurs. Heck, this is a man who scored the most number of goals in the calendar year of 2017—breaking the seemingly unbreakable duopoly of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
So, repeating the question once again: how can you fill the void left by Kane? For Spurs, it will be a gargantuan task. They will perhaps have to abandon their current system and make something that promotes more than one goalscorer.
Right now, the focal point and spearhead of the system is Harry Kane and his departure will just crash it all down.
2. Loads Of $$$
Let this be clear: Harry Kane’s sale will bring a lot of money to Tottenham Hotspur. A lot means A LOT. If it happened a year ago, somewhere around £100 million would have been enough to entice the Lilywhites since no player had touched the £100 million mark back then.
Right now, after the £198 million sale of Neymar, it feels as though £100 million is the base price for every quality player out there. With Harry Kane, a team is confirmed to get at least 30 goals every season from his boots.
And given that Daniel Levy is a tough man to negotiate with—coupled with Spurs’ strained relationship with Real—nothing less than £200 million will be entertained and that is a lot of money.
#3 Spurs Will Be Back to Mediocrity
This is a bit of a stretch, but not entirely out of the equation. Yes, Spurs are doing well despite the absence of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric, but remember how long it took them to get here after their respective departures?
In that sense, Kane is a more important player than the two ever were simply because of the goal-dependency that Spurs have on him. While Gareth Bale also scored a lot of goals for the Lilywhites, Kane does the bulk of the scoring for Tottenham.
Indeed, his absence immediately provides testament about his importance as Tottenham always find it difficult to find the back of the net without his presence. As a result, his departure could plunge Spurs back to mediocrity—at least for a while.
Three things that could happen if Kane does not leave Spurs:
1. He signs a big new contract at Spurs for the start of next season.
2. The kiddies who write these silly articles will grow up and write something of value and meaning.
3. The said kiddies will stop following the Spanish Press like bleating sheep every time they come out with a silly story, e.g HK has been choosing the no 10 shirt while ZZ has been saying “no new strikers” coming in this window.
It is strange because nowhere in the piece did I imply that Kane will leave in this window.
