4 Strikers Chelsea Could Sign In January

Date:

With Olivier Giroud poised to leave Chelsea next month, and Tammy Abraham not quite at a level where he can consistently find the back of the net for the Blues Frank Lampard could bring in a new striker once the January transfer window opens up.

Here’s a look at 4 strikers Chelsea could sign in January;

Timo Werner

Timo Werner

Leipzig’s German goalscoring machine ends the year as one of the most in-form strikers in Europe. He’s currently 2nd on the Bundesliga top scorer’s chart with 18 goals, one behind the league’s leading goalscorer, Robert Lewandowski.

He could replicate that form for Chelsea in the Premier League as Frank Lampard’s side looks to secure a top-four finish in the second half of the season. He’s arguably Chelsea’s best option considering the other players that could potentially be available in January.

Moussa Dembele

Lyon’s Moussa Dembele has been on Chelsea’s radar for quite some time now. Having proven himself in the Ligue 1 the Frenchman looks ready to conquer the Premier League.

Dembele has scored 10 goals in 16 Ligue 1 starts this season putting him in 2nd-place on the league’s top scorers’ leaderboard right behind Kylian Mbappe who has scored 11 goals this season.

Dembele would fit right into Chelsea’s lineup – he’s fast, agile, strong and has a natural striker’s instinct. He could lead Chelsea to a top four finish.

Kryzystof Piatek

Piatek took the Serie A by storm last season scoring 22 goals in the Italian top flight last season. This season hasn’t gone according to plan for the Polish striker having netted just four times for AC Milan amid their poor run of form in the first half of the Serie A campaign.

In a functional Chelsea side, Piatek could rediscover his form and take the Premier League by storm as he’d be given the support he needs to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.

Paulo Dybala

Signing Paulo Dybala would send a statement to Chelsea’s rivals as it would back up their intent to secure a top four spot and challenge for the Premier League title next season.

The Juventus man is one of the best players in the world right now and could take Chelsea to the next level under Frank Lampard’s guidance.

Dybala has scored 5 goals in 11 appearances this season. His role at Juve has prevented him from getting right into the mix of things, but should he feature as the main man up top for Chelsea, he’s sure to bag loads of goals at Stamford Bridge.
