Chelsea are on a rampage now. After a quiet start to the window, the reigning champions of England are in full motion in the transfer merry-go-round. They started with Rudiger, then followed it up with the acquisition of Tiemoue Bakayoko – and now they have topped it off with the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
However, Chelsea still need to sign more players to have a super-squad. The left-back is a priority position at the Stamford Bridge, which is why Alex Sandro became their primary target initially. His high valuation, however, has left the trail cold – and here are 5 left-backs Chelsea could sign instead.
2Danny Rose
Even though it is highly unlikely that Tottenham would sell to direct rivals twice in the same window, Danny Rose could actually be a great player in the former Juventus boss’ system. In Conte’s 3-4-3, the attacking capabilities of the full-back determine the chances of success for a system.
And as it turns out, Rose is an excellent attacking full-back. While he may have his defensive flaws, which have already improved under Mauricio Pochettino, it could be further cut down by the Italian tactician at Chelsea.
