But with reports that Manchester City and Juventus are planning a move for the German international, you can bet your bottom dollar that Mourinho will not let his former player move without some interest from Manchester United
Not specifically just a defensive midfielder, Kroos can operate in many different roles at the heart of midfield and was described by Paul Scholes as “the best midfield passer”.
