With the signing of Victor Lindelof from Benfica, who can feature at right or centre back, Manchester United have improved their backline tenfold.

But with a significant injury to Marcos Rojo and several other defenders being made of glass, no names mentioned *cough* Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw *cough*. With the success of Eric Bailly signing from Villareal last season Manchester United should look to Spain once again to strengthen their back line.

3Óscar de Marcos, Athletic Bilbao

Óscar-de-Marcos

The 28-year-old is a regular and solid performer for Bilbao. He played 24 La Liga games and contributed four assists as the team finished just outside of the Europa League places.

He contributes well defensively but possesses a wicked cross on him up the other end of the pitch. He mainly features as a right-back but is versatile and has been known to operate at left back or in midfield as well.

The signing would be a cheap option for Jose Mourinho as he is valued at less than £10 million.
