Liverpool are finally back in the Champions League, but they need to start signing some more players in a bid to bolster their ranks ahead of next season.

Domestically, they slipped away from the title race around Christmas and struggled when they lost key players. So who can they sign to take them to the next level?

5Mohamed Salah, AS Roma

The Egyptian has been strongly linked with Liverpool for several weeks now, and this transfer seems to be on again…possibly.

With 15 goals and 11 assists in the Serie A, there is a clear end product that Liverpool fans thrive on after years of having quality players within their ranks.

Salah is a player who likes to dribble at defenders and break on the counter; he would be a great signing for Liverpool.

4Riyad Mahrez, Leicester City

Since stating he would like to leave Leicster, Mahrez has been on a lot of teams’ radars. Clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona will battle with Liverpool for the Algerian midfielder’s signature.

However, he will not come cheap, and the fee is expected to be around £50 million. The Algerian does have the ability and will be looking to rediscover the scintillating form that saw him illuminate the Premier League in the 2015-16 season.

3Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang, Borussia Dortmund

A special reunion with Klopp could be on the cards. Having played under the German at Dortmund, Aubameyang could be persuaded to join his revolution in England.

The Gabonese striker has scored 42 goals for club and country this year as he shows no signs of slowing down.

With the move rumoured to be in the region of £60 million and Pep Guardiola monitoring the situation, the sensational reunion could be scuppered this season, but he would be the perfect striker to send The Reds to the next level.

2Kalidou Koulibaly, Napoli

A centre back is a much-needed acquisition for Liverpool as they leaked quite a number of goals last season. Following the Virgil Van Dijk debacle, Liverpool will be hoping that their interest in Koulibaly will not have the same outcome.

However, having had a £36.7 million offer rejected there could be complications ahead. Napoli are obviously keen to hold onto their prized asset as he is comfortable on the ball and is not shrugged off it easily.

Liverpool will face competition from Chelsea who are long-term admirers of the Senegalese defender.

1Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arsenal

“The Ox” is another wide option for Klopp to consider but yet again may face hefty competition from Antonio Conte at Chelsea. The Englishman is unsettled at Arsenal and is expected to make a move away from the Emirates this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.

Still only 23 years old, he has much to offer for years to come. Having played on either flank and anywhere in the middle of the park last season, Oxlade-Chamberlain is very versatile. This will interest Jurgen Klopp manager who likes players to play several different positions in a free-flowing attacking system.
