5 Players Manchester United Can Sign In January

Date:

Manchester United’s season has not gone according to plan thus far. The Red Devils have enjoyed some mini-streaks of great form but their league campaign has been marred by a brand of inconsistency that can seemingly, only be solved by the introduction of some new players into United’s squad.

On that note, here’s a look at 5 players United could sign in January;

Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland is currently in red hot form for RedBull Salzburg having scored 16 goals in 11 league starts making him one of the most prolific young strikers in Europe this season.

Haaland is currently linked with a move to Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to bolster his side’s attack going into the second half of the season.

Whilst Marcus Rashford has been producing the goods this season, he’s nowhere near as consistent as he should be, a fact which serves as a key reason behind United’s rocky start to the Premier League campaign.

Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United were widely expected to sign Bruno Fernandes last summer but they were unable to lure the Portuguese maestro to Old Trafford.

Considering the fact that Fernandes has made 12 goal and assist contributions in 13 Liga Nos games this season, Manchester United could be motivated to make a new move for the Sporting CP man as the Red Devils would benefit a great deal from having a player of his caliber in their midfield set-up.

Timo Werner

Timo Werner is heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, however, Manchester United also have the Germany international under their radar as they look to sign a striker in January.

Werner is one of the most in-form strikers in Europe at the moment having notched 23 goal and assist contributions for Bundesliga table-toppers RB Leipzig.

Werner boasts blistering pace, impressive finishing ability and he’s a consistent performer – should United fail to sign Haaland, they could make a move for Werner.

Mesut Ozil

It’s been quite a while since the ‘true Mesut Ozil’ graced the Premier League. Arsenal have been going through a rut all season long, and as a result, pretty much all of their players, bar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been unable to maintain a consistent run of form.

Manchester United could offer Ozil a way out of Arsenal in January with the Red devils keen on signing a creative midfielder. The German might be past his prime, but there are only a few players in the Premier League right now capable of matching his creativity in midfield.

Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen

Reports suggest that Tottenham are not afraid to let Christian Eriksen join a Premier League rival, and as such, Manchester United could sign the Danish midfield maestro in January.

He’d be the perfect player to bolster Manchester United’s midfield set-up as they look to secure a top four spot in the second half of the season.
