Before the 2017/18 Premier League season kicked off, Everton were seen as potential outsiders for a place in the top four following a number of impressive additions during the summer. However, it has been a remarkably poor start to the season for the Toffees under the management of Ronald Koeman, and they are in desperate need of three points to stop the rot.
As for Arsenal, it has been a fairly average start to the season by their high standards. They are currently sat in sixth place, level on points with Chelsea but already find themselves nine points behind league leaders Manchester City. Arsene Wenger will be hoping his side can find a way into the top four in the next few weeks.
We take a look at five players who could potentially have a significant influence on the outcome of Sunday’s match between these two sides.
1Dominic Calvert-Lewin
The 20-year-old striker joined Everton from Sheffield United last year and is certainly proving to be an up-and-coming player. He has made eight league appearances for the Toffees so far this season and has become one of their most important players. He is yet to score this season but has been unlucky on numerous occasions. It will be interesting to see whether he can open his account for the season against a fragile Arsenal defence on Sunday afternoon.
