Juventus had a fantastic season last term as they won the domestic double. They won the Serie A title with a four-point gap between themselves and Roma as well as the Coppa Italia where they beat Lazio 2-0. They also went all the way to the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid, although they were comfortably beaten by Zinedine Zidane’s side.

The four goals they conceded in the final in Cardiff were more than they conceded in the other 12 games they played in the competition. This shows how strong they were defensively last season and one the biggest parts of this defence was Leonardo Bonucci.

The Italian centre-back was sold to their rivals, AC Milan, for 40million Euros earlier this summer. There is no doubt that he will be missed by the Turin-based side and here are five players who they can sign to replace the huge gap.

Vincent Kompany of Manchester City is a very good option for the Italian champions as the Belgian captain has struggled during his time in England with several recurring injuries.

A move away from Manchester could see him rekindle the form that made him one of the world’s best defenders and a move to Juventus would see him form a part of a very strong defensive line. It would be a risk for them to sign the 31-year-old but his injury problems could make him very affordable.
