We’re two games into the new Premier League season and have just three teams with maximum points. The usual suspects Manchester City and Liverpool find themselves in 5th and 6th positions. But, one team has failed to get going really and they are the reigning champions, Chelsea.
We take a look at five reasons Chelsea’s crown is under threat.
2. Lack of Leadership
Even the most ardent Chelsea fan would find it difficult to see Gary Cahill as their new club captain. And when the old captain happens to be John Terry, the pain will only maximise. With all due respect, Gary Cahill couldn’t have made it into the top five of leadership chart during the Chelsea of old with Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Ballack, etc. Though John Terry played only a bunch of matches last season, his presence and leadership skills were vastly useful. His mere presence on the bench or as a member of staff or on Board would be well appreciated this season.
