What Next For Aston Villa

Date:

Aston Villa currently sit at the bottom of the table following their abysmal performances this season. Villa have not won a game since the opening day of the season, and the prospect of relegation seems to be an increasing possibility for the Villains.

Villa have been ever present since the inaugural season of the Premier League in 1992 but with just 7 points from 17 games at the moment, their top flight status seems to be under massive threat.

They appear to lack many match winners in their squad, with the likes of Jordan Ayew and Scott Sinclair looking like their main threats going forward.

Villa came off with a one all draw against Newcastle in their last Premier League outing, the result and performance was a huge step up from the loss to Arsenal the previous week.

Jordan Ayew mustered up an impressive Strike in the second half to help Villa steal a draw at St James’ Park.

Remi Garde has recently said that Villa need at least 10 wins in their remaining fixtures to stay up this season. But what remains to be seen with Villa so far is attacking intent.

Apart from Ayew and Sinclair they don’t seem to have any other reliable players and to put them up against other league strugglers it’s no surprise that they are currently rock bottom.

Garde will need to bring on a couple of experienced players to help in Villa’s relegation fight or else it would most definitely be a case of Villa sinking without trace.

Premier League teams who are bottom at Christmas almost always get relegated with the recent exceptions being Leicester City and Sunderland.

Aston Villa will be keen on becoming part of the exclusive host of clubs to have beaten the odds and stayed up after being bottom by Christmas.
