It appears that FC Barcelona will not be too strict when it comes to the perimeters of departures this summer. The Catalan giants have not exactly found a lot of success in terms of arrivals this summer, and the same can be said for departures as well. However, as more time passes, the more impatient Barcelona are getting in regards to the latter.
Some names in the club are already on the exit ramp, such as Clement Lenglet and possibly Ansu Fati, but it must be remembered that they are not the only players who could be sold. In fact, much of the squad is not exactly guaranteed a place in next season’s roster and they must prove their worth.
That is where 19-year-old Vitor Roque continues to suffer the most. The once highly-rated Brazilian youngster has been struggling from day one ever since he joined Barcelona, but while he could not get a lot of opportunities under Xavi Hernandez, there was still hope for him in terms of impressing new coach Hansi Flick.
Unfortunately, Roque has been unable to do that even after the appointment of the German coach. The latest game against Manchester City was another frustrating outing for the young Barcelona forward, and it appears that the Catalan club will not be too strict about any offer that comes for him.
In fact, according to AS, Barcelona would be open to letting go of the player for an offer equal to €30 million or close to it. That valuation is something that Barça no longer see as being too low for the player and instead would welcome it with open arms given that they do not believe that Roque will be too important a player next season.
Moreover, recently acquired Spanish forward Pau Victor has reportedly even exceeded Roque’s position in the team’s hierarchy. For Hansi Flick, the impressive former Girona striker is now the alternative option to Robert Lewandowski and it will not be the young Brazilian who gets to hold that position any longer.
Where Roque continued to struggle, Victor came in to seize his chance. He was exceptional for Rafa Marquez’s Barcelona Atletic last season, and he was surreal to watch against Manchester City. The player did not just score a great goal, but his link-up play and positional understanding already seems to be beyond anything Roque possesses at the moment.
