Can Chelsea Get Their Hands on PL Trophy This Season?

Date:

Chelsea fans have all the right to be excited as their club spent a massive 150 million Euros at a time when most of the other clubs faced financial constraints due to the pandemic. The Blues have definitely compensated for the ban they faced in the last summer window. With all the new faces in, we take a look at where they are destined to in this season.

What they have done in the transfer window?

Possibly, Chelsea have covered every drawback they had last season. Having signed SIX high profile players, they appear to be most exciting squad in the Premier League, at lean on paper. The new faces include Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

Frank Lampard is also after a goalkeeper as he looks to replace Kepa. Edouard Mendy from Rennes is considered to be a robust option who is willing to move to England. Declan Rice of West Ham is another target for Chelsea. But, right now, they will look to wrap a goalkeeper first. On the other hand, Willian has left for Arsenal, and Pedro has moved to Roma. A few more exits are anticipated from Stamford Bridge in the next two weeks.

Key Man

Christian Pulisic has had a stable first season at Stamford Bridge even though he didn’t start every game. But next season, it is highly anticipated the American will be Frank Lampard’s go to man. The youngster scored 9 goals and 4 assists in 25 matches. A hip injury just before the New Year curtailed him some part of game-time. He will aim to remain injury-free in the new season and take his team for a title challenge which the fans are dreaming for.

Signing to make

A goalkeeper. Everything is not right between the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, Kepa and Chelsea’s young manager, Frank Lampard. Rennes keeper Edouard Mendy seems to be a robust option. The Senegal national football team goalkeeper has a fair amount of experience. It remains unclear whether he will be Lampard’s first-choice or second-choice next season.

Prediction – 4th

Here comes the most exciting part. On paper, Chelsea looks dynamic, pacy, exciting, and dependable. On-field? We are yet to find it out. They have signed 5 first-team players. All five should be there in the first-team if we make Chelsea’s best XI for next season. Premier League is a tough league, and very often we have seen teams which make a ton of changes slip up easily. Can the Blues break into the top 4 successfully for another season? We will find that very soon!
