Chelsea unveiled their new signing Papy Djilobodji at club’s Cobham training ground on Friday.
The 27-year-old Senegal defender joined the Blues from French side Nantes for a fee around £2.7 million on a four-year deal hours before summer transfer deadline. He has taken no.15 shirt at the club.
He has been named in Chelsea’s Premier League side but left out for their squad for the Champions League.
Djilobodji began his career with Senegalese club ASC Saloum before joining division four French club Sénart-Moissy, where he played 10 games at the competitive level.
He joined Nantes in 2010 and made 183 appearances for the club in six seasons and had one year left on his contract before signing for Chelsea.
Besides the Premier League champions, Djiobodji also drew the attention from several other English clubs including Aston Villa and Sunderland this summer, however, none of them lodged a bid for him.
Djilobodji has won 12 caps for Senegal since making his international debut in 2013.
