Finding the right club at the right time can unlock a talented player’s real potential and now could be one of those moments for French forward Loic Remy at Crystal Palace.

After scoring over 50 goals across six seasons in Ligue 1 with Nice and Marseille, Remy joined then-Premier League side Queens Park Rangers in January of 2013.

A loan to Newcastle for the 2013-14 season was impressive, as the Frenchman bagged 14 Premier League goals and showed a strong ability to be the focal point of a club’s attack.

The 2013-14 campaign paved the way for his move to Stamford Bridge where he struggled to find consistent game time on the pitch behind Diego Costa.

With a season-long loan in place for the Frenchman at Crystal Palace, we highlight why fans will see the 29-year old shine in the Premier League again at Selhurst Park in 2016-17.

A Partnership With Christian Benteke

Christian Benteke’s arrival at Crystal Palace could provide a dynamic duo up top for the Eagles.

Both forwards have shown an ability to dominate in goal scoring positions and hold up play well for attacking midfielders.

With wide options forcing formations out of alignment, Remy and Benteke could both find space to work at the top of the lineup to score goals.

The two set up together could wreak havoc on an opposing team’s defence as well, as both forwards could cause matchup problems for the back-line.

Reunion With Allan Pardew

After a successful year together at Newcastle United, Remy will certainly be delighted to work with Alan Pardew once more.

The charismatic manager got the best out of Remy when the two were in the Northeast, and he should see the same again.

Pardew is well known for allowing his players the freedom to express themselves without always being rigid to a particular tactical system.

Yannick Bolasie was an excellent recent example, as the winger was given license to roam during his time with Pardew.

Remy seemed out of sorts under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea but may find more consistent goal scoring numbers this season under Pardew at Palace.

Fills A Need Within The Team

While he may have seemed to be low on the depth chart and surplus to requirements at Chelsea, he will be cast firmly in the spotlight at Crystal Palace.

The club has struggled to score goals already in this young season, especially after Bolasie left for Everton this summer.

The signing of both Remy and Benteke showcase this need, and both seem motivated and ready to recapture past form.

A new setting and situation can work wonders for players, and Loic Remy’s addition to Crystal Palace this season will see his career on the upward trajectory again.
