Everton vs Chelsea: Live Score & Highlights

Date:

Following an underwhelming start to the 2015-16 Premier League campaign, defending champions Chelsea will be looking for a fresh beginning after the international break when Everton will welcome them to Goodison Park on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho side are sitting at 13th position in the points table after managing just four points from a possible 12. A 3-2 win over West Bromwich Albion is the Blues’ only victory in the topflight season so far and they suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace in the last game prior to the break.

The Toffees, on the other hand, are placed ninth in the standing with five points after winning just one of their first four matches. They began their campaign with a 2-2 draw against newly-promoted Watford and registered an empathic 3-0 win over Southampton in the next game before suffering 0-2 loss at the hands of Manchester City. In the last game before the break, they were held to a goalless draw by Tottenham Hotspur.

Head-to-Head

This will be the 161st competitive meeting between Chelsea and Everton, with former leading head-to-head record 61-50. 49 other games between them ended on draw.

The Blues have won four of five of their last six matches against the Toffees, with a narrow 1-0 win in 2013 season being their only victory in these games.

Chelsea defeated Everton comprehensively by 6-3 when they visited Goodison Park last term, thanks to three goals from Diego Costa.
