The Ongoing Premier League season is all set to resume after the international break as Everton host reigning champions Chelsea at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon, Sports Courant reported.

Jose Mourinho’s side made a very dismal start to the new season witnessed by a mere four points in as many games and currently languishes at the 13th place on the Premier League table.

The Merseysiders, on the other hand, have endured a mixed start to the new campaign and currently ranked 9th on the league table, four places better than Chelsea.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez, though, appears confident that his team would be able to inflict more misery on The North London side especially after Chelsea’s failed attempts to sign their star defender John Stones this summer.

The English professional is likely to be part of the lineup on Saturday afternoon, which will undoubtedly add a pinch of extra spice to the encounter – which finished 6-3 in the corresponding fixture last season.

Midfielder Tom Cleverley remains sidelined with the ligaments injury he picked up in the game against Tottenham and will not be available for selection.
In fact, the England international will be away from live action for six to eight weeks untile he recovers completely.

“With that sort of injury, ligament damage, you can normally expect a period of six to eight weeks,” Martinez confirmed on Thursday.

Bryan Oviedo also remains doubtful for after sustaining a knee injury that forced him miss out on national duty. However, Brendan Galloway is expected to be fully fit ahead of Saturday’s vital clash against the champions.

Summer signing Ramiro Funes Mori is also likely to get a start at left-back.

Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mourinho will also be missing the services of first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who has been ruled out after picking up a knee injury during the training session on Wednesday.

It is anticipated that the Belgian will watch at least 13 games from the sidelines.
