The 2020 FA Cup final will feature 2 of the best clubs in London battle it out for the Football Association Challenge Trophy. Here is a combined XI of Arsenal and Chelsea.
GK: Emi Martinez
The Argentine was given his chance under Mikel Arteta after Arsenal’s number 1, Bernd Leno was injured in a Premier League game against Brighton and Hove Albion. He has since impressed everyone with his performances and played a significant role in Arsenal’s Premier League and FA Cup campaign. His shot-stopping and excellent distribution will give Bernd Leno a run for his money when he returns to action. Kepa and Caballero don’t even stand a chance to compete against the Argentine and the German.
RB: Cesar Azpilicueta
Arguably the only good defender in the Chelsea squad, Azpilicueta has been a constant feature in Frank Lampard’s side. He currently also captains the Blues and would lead the celebrations if they win.
CB: Rob Holding
Arsenal’s hero from the 2017 FA Cup final, Holding became fan’s favourite after he clashed with Chelsea’s ex-striker Diego Costa. He has remained in the heart of every Arsenal fan ever since. We can expect another World-Class performance from the Englishman in this year’s final.
CB Antonio Rudiger
Shkodran Mustafi is ruled out for the final owing to a hamstring injury sustained in the semi-final against Man City. Chelsea’s number 2 Antonio Rudiger takes the spot vacated by Mustafi in this list. The Blues haven’t had the best season defensively, but Rudiger does have the talent and potential to be in this list.
LB: Kieran Tierney
The Scot has been Arsenal’s best defender since the restart. He scored his first Premier League goal on the last day of the season. His blistering pace, acceleration and incisive runs on the left are going to be a problem for the Chelsea defence.
CM: Ngolo Kante
A top players list regarding Chelsea can not be complete without Ngolo Kante. The Frenchman is Consistent, quick, has great passing skills and holds the midfield together without ever getting tired. His performance will definitely have a huge influence on the game.
CM: Dani Ceballos
The Spaniard along with Granit Xhaka has held the midfield together for the Gunners this season. His vision and passing are second to none. This game is crucial for Ceballos’ future as he might renew his contract with Arsenal for another season if they secure European football by winning the final.
CM: Jorginho
The last midfielder on this list is Jorginho. With stiff competition from Granit Xhaka for the spot, the Italian will definitely be the best passer on the pitch. There are rumours that it might be his last game in England, with Maurizio Sarri wanting him at Juventus.
LW: Christian Pulisic
After the departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, Chelsea fans have found a new hero on their left wing. The American has had a fantastic debut season in England, and he’d want to end it with a trophy.
ST: Pierre Emerick Aubameyang
It’s no surprise to see The Gunner’s skipper on this list. The Gabonese striker had almost no competition for this spot. With 22 goals in the league this season, just one short of the Golden Boot. Aubameyang will definitely be the most influential player on the pitch.
RW: Mason Mount
Chelsea youngster Mason Mount takes the last spot on this list. With fierce competition from Bukayo Saka, Mount has had a great season under Frank Lampard. His amazing free kicks and pin-point passing might be a problem for the Gunners.
