Unfortunately for him, Manuel Neuer has been out for 246 days since the 18th of September with a metatarsal fracture. That leaves Marc-Andre ter Stegen as the number one candidate to be Germany’s keeper in Russia. Ter Stegen has been on the verge of dethroning Neuer for years now, but this tournament will officially solidify that passing of the torch.
