We’re just over a month away from the start of the 2018 World Cup and the world is eagerly waiting. As the domestic season comes to a close, the best players in the world are now setting their eyes on Russia. Last week we looked at Arsenal, today we’re looking at the World Cup prospects of Barcelona. The La Liga champions will have a number of representatives across every group in the tournament.
Here are 5 Barcelona players to watch out for at the World Cup.
2Luis Suarez
It’s been a mixed season for Luis Suarez. He may be a domestic champion again but in 32 appearances, the 31-year-old scored 25 goals. That’s good for any player, but for Luis Suarez, that’s average. For the first time in his international career, Suarez won’t be the talisman for Uruguay, Edinson Cavani will be. Regardless, in a group with Russia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Suarez & his Uruguay teammates will at least be expected to progress to the knockout stages.
