Luke Shaw may finally be a constant feature in José Mourinho’s plans again, but make no doubt about it, Manchester United still need another left-back. Don’t get me wrong, Ashley Young has been exceptional in that position, but at 32 years of age, he doesn’t have many more months at the top level left in him. Plain and simple, Manchester United need a left-back and luckily for them, there are several options available.

Five left-backs Manchester United can sign.

3Ryan Bertrand

Ryan Bertrand

As of today, Ryan Bertrand is the most consistent left-back in English football. The Southampton prodigy has grown leaps & bounds at St Mary’s, evolving into a model example of an attacking full-back. At Old Trafford, the 28-year-old could take his career to the next level. Being one of the best in the Premier League is nice, but proving it in the Champions League would be better. Ryan Bertrand currently has 3 years left on his deal, so a bid in excess of £30m could be enough for José Mourinho to get his man.
