Arsenal are in need of reinforcements ahead of next season. After years of consistently finishing inside the top four, they will spend next season outside of Europe’s top competition and will be hoping to finally put together a proper title challenge after over ten years without a Premier League trophy.
New blood is not going to come in right at the top with Stan Kroenke resolutely unwilling to sell and Arsene Wenger not only signing a new two-year deal but also rejecting the idea of having a director of football to help him to identify targets.
Now, while we would never presume to know more about the game than a great like Arsene Wenger, it is clear that he could do with a little help identifying some new targets to propel his Arsenal side back towards the top of the table.
So here are five players he could look at, some fairly obvious and some less so, who could help Arsenal fill their problem positions and finally bring a Premier League title to the Emirates.
5Kurt Zouma, Centre Back, Chelsea:
Considering he currently plays for a rival, Arsenal might struggle to secure the 22-year-old centre-back but his career seems to have stalled a little after injury and with Chelsea seemingly pursuing Van Dijk and Bonucci according to Metro Zouma might struggle to make the first team.
In fact, according to The Evening Standard, Conte might be willing to let Zouma leave on loan. Arsenal should take advantage and try to secure the Frenchman permanently; he is young, strong and looks like he will grow into a superb player, he would, without a doubt, improve Arsenal’s backline especially since Wenger appears to have switched to a three at the back formation.
