Arsenal are in need of reinforcements ahead of next season. After years of consistently finishing inside the top four, they will spend next season outside of Europe’s top competition and will be hoping to finally put together a proper title challenge after over ten years without a Premier League trophy.
New blood is not going to come in right at the top with Stan Kroenke resolutely unwilling to sell and Arsene Wenger not only signing a new two-year deal but also rejecting the idea of having a director of football to help him to identify targets.
Now, while we would never presume to know more about the game than a great like Arsene Wenger, it is clear that he could do with a little help identifying some new targets to propel his Arsenal side back towards the top of the table.
So here are five players he could look at, some fairly obvious and some less so, who could help Arsenal fill their problem positions and finally bring a Premier League title to the Emirates.
4Kylian Mbappe, Striker, Monaco:
Perhaps the most sought after player in the world at the moment, Wenger might need a little bit of convincing to loosen the purse strings and spend the more than the £100 million Monaco would want for the player according to The Telegraph.
However, Wenger was always famed for investing in French talents like Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira and while Mbappe would cost quite a bit more than those players he has the potential to make the same impact. Arsenal need to make a statement, and they need a world class player, and Mbappe fits the bill.
