It has been a productive summer of transfer activity at Blackburn Rovers so far this summer as they will be looking to bounce back to The Championship at the first attempt under the management of Tony Mowbray following their relegation last season. Blackburn are one of the biggest clubs in League One and should be right up there challenging for promotion next May.

Mowbray has made several signings so far this summer with the likes of Marcus Antonsson, Paul Caddis, Bradley Dack, Peter Whittingham, Dominic Samuel and others all arriving at Ewood Park. It would be no surprise to see Mowbray strengthen his squad even further before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.

Rovers did not get their 2017/18 League One campaign off to the best start last weekend as they fell to a 2-1 defeat away at Southend United. However, they will be looking to get their first three points of the season this weekend at home to Doncaster Rovers.

We take a look at five players who could play a vital part in the upcoming season for Rovers in their quest to earn a spot back in the second division at the first attempt.

The 23-year-old’s arrival at Blackburn earlier this summer from Gillingham for a fee of around £750,000 has the potential to be a really good deal. Dack has proved in the past that he can perform to a very high standard at this level, even if his career has stalled slightly in the last few years.

His most successful season was the 2015/16 campaign as he scored 15 goals in 44 appearances for Gillingham. However, last season he only scored six goals in 39 appearances. Rovers supporters will be hoping that now he is surrounded by better players, it will allow him to flourish once again.
