Trent Alexander-Arnold was burdened with the responsibility of being Liverpool’s first choice right-back for an entire season. At just 19 years of age that proved to be a tall order for the youngster. With Nathaniel Clyne developing into an injury-prone player, Liverpool’s right-back options for next season are looking scarce. If Jurgen Klopp wants to truly build upon a 4th placed finish and win the title, a new RB is needed this summer. We take a look at five RBs that Liverpool should target in the summer.
4João Cancelo
Since moving to Serie A, Cancelo has directly contributed to four goals in 26 league appearances. The Portuguese full-back is tireless off the ball and relentless on it. He particularly thrives on intercepting passes, dribbling, crossing and creating chances. Down the right flank, Cancelo could form a fluid partnership with Mohammed Salah, as he would overlap while Salah goes on the outside.
so we have trent….clyne….Gomez….and now fabinho,,,who can all play right back if required….why do we anyone else again?…..don’t right stuff that is rubbish
