The future of Chelsea star Eden Hazard has been thrown into doubt following the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as the new Real Madrid manager.

Zidane was appointed as the new boss at the Bernabeu just days after Benitez’s dismissal following Madrid’s poor form in the La Liga.

Zidane was brought in to manage and motivate the players as they look to launch a title challenge, but with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona’s consistent performances it may take a while for Zidane to get Madrid back on the top of the table.

Before his appointment as Madrid boss, Zidane had expressed his admiration for Belgian superstar Eden Hazard and considering Hazard’s current situation; Zidane might look to sign him in the summer.

Reports of a £100million bid for the Chelsea player has recently surfaced according to Metro, but with PSG also keen on his signature Zidane might have to fight hard to get his man.

Hazard has been a shadow of his former self so far this season as he’s been unable to replicate the type of form that saw him claim the PFA player of the year award last season.

His uninspiring performances didn’t help Chelsea in any way as they slumped into the bottom half of the table.

The arrival of Guus Hiddink seems to have spurred up some renewed motivation amongst the Chelsea players as they seem to be back to their best, although Hazard doesn’t look like he’s going to play a significant role in Chelsea’s season revival.

He has failed to muster up any impressive performances this season as he’s still yet to score a Premier League goal this season.

But despite all his flaws this season Zidane still has faith in Hazard’s abilities and will look to lure the out-of-form player to Madrid with the promise of regular playing time and continuous silverware acquisition.

Chelsea could also use Hazard as a bargaining chip to sign long-term target Gareth Bale as the Welshman seems to be disgruntled at Zidane’s unexpected appointment.
