It’s reported that Arsenal enquired about the availability of Anthony Martial while initiating negotiations for Alexis Sanchez. The Manchester club told the Gunners in no uncertain terms that the Frenchman would not be leaving Old Trafford. Instead of looking at a washed up Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Arsène Wenger should have turned his attention to the services of Marcus Rashford, another promising world-class talent.
It was Anthony Martial who initially found himself on the bench this season; now it’s Marcus Rashford enduring time in the dugout. The 20-year-old is a versatile forward that can play in any one of the three front positions. However, it’s clear to most that he excels through the middle and because of that, he’s only scored 4 goals from the wing this season.
Marcus Rashford deserves more than to be making 11 appearances from the bench; he deserves to be a star man at the Emirates. Asking for Rashford instead of Mkhitaryan means the Gunners could have killed two stones with one bird, as they would have got a quality striker and a winger. Meaning they wouldn’t have to be forking out £53million on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
