Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer feels that his chemistry with Noni Madueke is helping the club reap all the benefits of the partnership. That’s something which bodes well for the future of the club, with so many youngsters, and talented ones at that, vying for a starting spot.
Speaking to the official Chelsea handle on YouTube, here is what Palmer had to say.
“We’re different players, aren’t we? He likes to run, I like to pass… So, yeah, I think we complement each other well. He’s to the right of me, and he’s the only one there next door.”
Strike-Partnership!
Palmer and Madueke’s styles of play couldn’t be more different, yet they mesh together seamlessly. Palmer, with his vision and passing ability, orchestrates play from the midfield, often setting the stage for Madueke’s explosive runs.
Madueke, on the other hand, uses his speed and dribbling skills to break down defences, creating opportunities and space for his teammates. One similarity between them is the fact that they can both feature as an attacking midfielder or an out-and-out right-winger.
It’s a classic case of the sum being greater than the parts, as their combined strengths cover each other’s weaknesses and amplify their individual talents. Their partnership is so evident in the fact that all of Madueke’s goals this season in the Premier League have been assisted by Palmer.
For instance, in recent matches, Palmer’s precise passes have often found Madueke in space, allowing him to exploit his pace and skill to devastating effect. Conversely, €35m-rated Madueke’s runs often drag defenders out of position, creating gaps that Palmer can exploit with his passing range and his knack of finishing from near the edge of the box. Combined, the players have 16 G/A in 17 appearances across all competitions.
As the season progresses, the Palmer-Madueke partnership will be a focal point for Chelsea. Their continued development and understanding will be crucial in the team’s quest for silverware and a strong league finish after a very strong start to the season.
The Blues are fourth on the table at the moment and would look to finish in a UCL spot come the end of the season. Players like Palmer and Madueke will surely play key roles in that pursuit.
