Leeds United Boss Considers Loan Move for Sunderland Outcast

Date:

Leeds United boss Steve Evans is considering a loan move for Sunderland outcast Liam Bridcutt in the January transfer window.

According to Sunday Express, Evans is willing to strengthen his midfield options this winter and reckons that the 26-year-old Scotland international cozily fits his needs.

Besides Leeds, Bridcutt has also attracted interest from several other Championship clubs including Cardiff City and Reading despite having found himself out of favour at Sunderland this season.

“I know Massimo Cellino (club’s owner) was talking to Liam’s representatives on Wednesday,” Evans told BBC Radio Leeds.

“We’ll see where it goes in the next couple of days. We’d hoped it would have been done by now, but it’s proving a little bit more difficult to get over the line.

“I’ve always said this is a great club to join, and I think you’d be bonkers not to want to come here.”

Bridcutt, who joined Sunderland from Brighton and Hove Albion in January 2014 and made 30 appearances for the club first two seasons.

However, he has found himself out of at the club this term and is yet to manage a single senior appearance and has instead been restricted to club’s under-19 side.

During his four-year spell at Brighton & Hove Albion, Bridcutt scored seven goals in 132 appearances.
