With Chelsea still flirting with relegation halfway into the season, it will be interesting to see what Leicester have in store for the fallen champions as the Blues travel to the King Power Stadium in this night’s Premier League encounter.
Leicester have been nothing short of outstanding so far this season as they currently sit at 3rd place on the table, and a win against the Blues will see them go top of the pile. Although the same can’t be said about Chelsea who’s season seems to be going from bad to worse each match day following a poor run of games which leaves them just one spot above the relegation zone.
If things weren’t bad enough for Chelsea going into the game, today’s Champions League draw which sees Chelsea play against PSG in the Round Of 16 for the third season running has given Mourinho and his players a lot to worry about, and this could affect their performance against Leicester.
With the pressure increasingly mounting on Jose Mourinho this season, the Chelsea boss will be keen for a turn around sooner than later and a victory against Leicester tonight will definitely set the tone for a season revival. However, with Leicester’s current form, going up against a Claudio Ranieri inspired side seems a challenging task for Chelsea.
It will be an absolute travesty if Diego Costa doesn’t feature today for one reason or the other. His recent Indiscipline has to be overlooked by the Portuguese tactician as the Blues needs to have a real go at the Foxes to get something positive out of the game.
The encounter is expected to be a free-flowing display of good football as both sides go into the game with a lot to prove, although there is a lot more urgency in Chelsea’s motives for this one, nonetheless it’s expected to be an action-packed fixture.
Team News
Mourinho has a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of this encounter while Leicester’s only injury absentees are Matty James and Ritchie De Laet.
