LVG Getting it Wrong Once Again

Manchester United’s season has been plunged into turmoil by the one man who was expected to bring the Glory days back to Old Trafford, and that individual is none other than Louis Van Gaal.

LVG miserably failed to make any positive impact at United even with the amount of time and backing he’s been given by the Board of Directors.

Last Season LVG steered Manchester United to a top four finish, although they failed to make an instant impact on their return to the Champions League as they were knocked out in the group stages.

The fact that the Red Devils managed UCL qualification last season that gave United faithful some renewed hope ahead of this campaign. However, due to this term’s unfortunate turn of events, it’s almost like every shred of hope that has tried to manifest itself at Old Trafford has gotten shrugged off with United’s inconsistent showings on the pitch.

United’s season looks set to become a calamitous one as they’re now caught up in somewhat of a worst case scenario which may see them miss out on the top four this season.

Although we saw some glimpses of Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United this season, the Red Devils continue to be plagued with inconsistency and as a result, they’ve failed to live up to expectations regarding their League position.

When the season kicked off all the way back in August, United were thought to be amongst the leading contenders for the title this season, But at the moment, it has just dawned on them that they might not be playing Champions League football next season.

LVG’S haughty demeanour appears to be contributing to the wave of inconsistency in and around Old Trafford.

United were on a decent run prior to the game against title Chasing Spurs, who capitalised on United’s lack of concentration throughout the match to come off with an emphatic 3-0 win.

The game against Spurs served as somewhat of a highlight of Manchester United’s rocky season as the Manchester Giants don’t seem to know how to keep a good run going.

The loss put them in a very uncomfortable position regarding their Champions League qualification hopes, and with the way things are set to pan out, West Ham and Manchester City look like the sides that’ll drag it out for fourth place while  United just watches from the sidelines.

Manchester United’s limbo of inconsistency has to be curbed sooner or later, and the best way to do so might be to bring in a long-term manager who can reshape the club and usher in a new era of dominance at Old Trafford.

José Mourinho is reportedly on United’s radar on that front, but it’s no secret that the United hierarchy are also considering Ryan Giggs for the role.

In the likely event that Manchester United fail to qualify for the Champions League a new Manager might be brought in to patch things up at the illustrious club but until then, LVG will be hoping to turn things around before the end of the season.
