Man United vs CSKA Moscow: Team News & Starting Line-ups

Date:

Manchester United will be aiming to end a three-match goalless streak when they host CSKA Moscow at the Old Trafford in a Champions League tie on Tuesday.

The first encounter between the two sides last month in Russia was ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Red Devils currently sit at the second position in Group B with four points from three games. They begin their campaign with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of PSV Eindhoven before registering a 2-1 win over group leaders Wolfsburg.

The 20-time English champions have failed to score in their last four games since Anthony Martial found the back of net against CSKA.

CSKA, meanwhile, are placed third in the table after bagging four points from a maximum nine. They opened their campaign with a 1-0 loss to Wolfsburg but bounced back to record a 3-2 win over PSV Eindhoven at home.

They will enter the contest on the back of a 2-0 win over Ufa on Sunday which extended their unbeaten streak in all competitions to 10 games. Since losing to Wolfsburg, the Russian side has won seven and drawn three games.

Team News:

Midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is expected to feature United after missing out training on Monday due to personal reasons.

Defender Phil Jones is also likely to return after Saturday’ goalless against Crystal Palace with a knock. Daley Blind could be dropped to the bench and Michael Carrick could come into the midfield in case the England international returns.

Memphis Depay has been left out of the home side’s line-up for this game.

For the Russian side, Bibras Natcho and defender Vasili Berezutski are doubtful due to injury.

Aleksei Berezutski will come into the side to get nod in the central defence if his brother Vasili misses out.
