Man United vs. Wolfsburg: Starting Lineups

Date:

Manchester United will be keen to get their Champions League campaign back on track when they host German club Wolfsburg to Old Trafford Wednesday night.

Louis van Gaal’s side slumped to a disastrous 2-1 defeat at PSV Eindhoven in their opening fixture of the prestigious European top-flight and will be desperate to get back to winning ways on home turf this evening.

The Red Devils secured a morale boosting 3-0 victory over Sunderland on Saturday which pushed them atop the Premier League table for the first time since Van Gaal took over managerial reigns of the club.

Meanwhile, Bundesliga side made a stuttering side to their domestic season but kicked-off their continental campaign in style with 1-0 victory over CSKA Moscow a fortnight ago.

Wolfsburg boss Dieter Hecking will be hoping his side can carry their winning momentum to the Old Trafford for their second visit. The former Bundesliga champions were drawn in the same group as United in the 2009-10 season.

United won the last fixture between two soccer powerhouses, but it is still remembered for Edin Dzeko’s sensational header that gave his side an initial lead.

How will Manchester United line-up against VFL Wolfsburg and will the fans be able to witness a high voltage clash tonight as well?

(Possible) Starting Lineups:

Man Utd: David de Gea, Matteo Darmian, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Michael Carrick, Juan Mata, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Antonio Valencia, Memphis Depay, Anthony Martial, Wayne Rooney

Wolfsburg: Diego Benaglio, Dante Naldo, Ricardo Rodríguez, Christian Träsch, Daniel Caligiuri, Julian Draxler, Luiz Gustavo, André Schürrle, Bas Dost, Max Kruse
