The clash between Manchester United and Everton is always a classic. You just have to look at the tremendous comeback from The Toffees in the 4-4 game in 2012 or the frantic game in 2014 where David De Gea was a man on a mission and who could forget the last minute drama from Anthony Martial to secure United’s place in the 2016 F.A Cup final. So will any of these five players replicate that drama on Sunday?
5Wayne Rooney, Everton
It is an early return to Old Trafford for Wayne Rooney; who will have circled this fixture first when they were announced. The former United captain had a brilliant start to the season after scoring the only goal of the game against Stoke on his 2nd Premier League debut for the club. He even followed it up with a goal at the Etihad, once again, to wind up the Manchester City fans as he celebrated in front of them.
However, with recent rumours in the newspapers about his personal life affecting his club career he will be hoping to produce a stellar performance against his former employees to show them what they are missing. But with the midweek disaster against Atalanta in the Europa League, it might be hard to see Rooney produce the magic on this occasion.
