Manuel Pellegrini is not expecting to sign any Player in the January transfer window as he’s remains confident in the squad despite recent injury concerns according to Sky Sports.
Vincent Kompany and Samir Nasri are Manchester City’s main injury absentees this season as both players are not expected to make a return anytime soon.
Vincent Kompany’s influence on the pitch has certainly been missed by Manchester City as they’ve looked a poorer defensive unit without the Belgian to lead the back four.
When asked about his plans to recruit players in the January transfer window, Pellegrini said : “I think the squad is complete.
“As always, I said that we are not going to completely rule anything out, but we are not really thinking of any special players to bring in. I don’t talk about rumours. I am telling you what I am thinking about for our squad in this moment.”
The Citizens face a tough task in their first Premier League outing of the new year as they travel to the Vicarage Road to take on Watford side and Pellegrini has also admitted that he’s expecting a tough away game.
The City boss said: “Maybe at the beginning of the season it can be a surprise, the same as Leicester, but when you play 19 games or so and we are still talking about Watford and Leicester, it is because they have important players in a good moment who are giving a high performance with their managers doing a very good job.
“As for ourselves, I feel we are in a good position. Always the best position is to be top of the table, but I think that this is a special season in the Premier League.
“With the amount of points we have at this moment, it is not good to fight for the title in a normal season when you finish with a lot more points.
“However, we are three points behind the leaders and I hope we are going to complete strongly with a very good second half of the season.”
Manchester City are just three points behind Joint League leaders Arsenal and Leicester City. A win for Pellegrini’s men against Watford could see them top the table depending on the outcomes in the games involving Arsenal and Leicester City.
Manchester City’s star-studded Lineup is definitely good enough to win the League, as they boast of arguably the best players in the Premier League but it remains to be seen if they can attain a level of consistency that could see them go all the way and win the title.
