Napoli are only a few days away from kicking off the 2024-25 season and the Gli Azzuri fans will be highly excited for the upcoming campaign as they have a very experienced manager, Antonio Conte, leading the team.
The Neapolitans have also significantly strengthened their defense, having signed Alessandro Buongiorno, Rafa Marin, and Leonardo Spinazzola.
Now, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are going to strengthen their forward line as well, as they are very close to completing the signing of the Brazilian winger, David Neres. The report claims that the Italians are looking to complete this operation by this weekend, and the Brazilian forward can be ready to play for Conte as soon as next week.
The Italian tactician has asked for several players, and Neres is the one closest to joining his team. This operation can end up costing Napoli up to €28 million, while the player will earn around €3 million with the Italian side. This is €1 million more than what he is currently earning with Benfica in Portugal.
This will be a good offensive signing for Napoli, and Neres’ experience can significantly help Conte’s team as they embark on the journey to regain the crown of Italian football. The €25 million-rated Brazilian winger has been playing in Europe for seven years now, having joined Ajax in 2017 with whom he won two Eredivisie titles, two Dutch cups, and a Super Cup.
He then joined Shakhtar Donetsk but was unable to play with them because of the Russian invasion. He signed for Benfica in summer 2022, and won another league title and a Super Cup in Portugal, scoring 11 goals in 55 games in Liga Portugal. Neres also has 8 appearances with the heavily loaded Brazilian national team.
