Official: Liverpool starting line-up announced for AC Milan clash

Date:

Tonight represents a return to Champions League action for Liverpool, a very welcome return following a campaign of Europa League Football. Italian powerhouse, AC Milan, welcomes the Reds to the San Siro Stadium, seeing two giants of the game lock horns in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

Liverpool will be looking to re-establish some rhythm and conviction in their game, following their humbling 1-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest at Anfield, last weekend. The Champions League offers a welcome distraction and an opportunity to rotate a side that looked a little off the pace last Saturday.

Domestically, AC Milan boss, Paulo Fonseca, has experienced a mixed start, seeing his side sitting ninth in the Serie A, having won one of his four games, drawing two and losing one. Fonseca will be looking for a strong start to their Champions League campaign, and no further motivation will likely be required with the visit of Liverpool on the Horizon.

It promises to be a fantastic night of Football, both sides will be looking to get their European campaign off to a strong start, with Liverpool hoping to shake off the hangover of last weekend’s defeat.

Ahead of the match itself, however, Liverpool have now officially released their starting XI to face the Red and Blacks. Cody Gakpo replaces Luis Díaz and Konstantinos Tsimikas comes in for Scottish left-back Andrew Robertson. Liverpool’s new signing Federico Chiesa makes the bench and will be hopeful of getting some minutes at the San Siro tonight.

Liverpool Line-up: Alisson, Van Dijk, Konate, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Salah, Gakpo, Jota, Tsimikas, Gravenberch, Alexander-Arnold.
