The assiduous efforts of Manchester United manager Van Gaal turned out well as goalkeeper David De Gea has signed a new deal with Old Trafford outfit.
A 4-year contract; worth £200,000 earns 24-year old Spain international a slot among the highest paid players of the club.
De Gea joined the Red Devils back in 2011 and made 175 striking appearances for the club, winning a Premium League title and two Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year accolades.
The Spain international was just minutes away from a move to Real after a final £29.5m bid acquiesced, but the deal fell through due to administrative hiccups in completing the transfer within stipulated time.
The ace goalkeeper claims that botched deal to be a source of immense pleasure as he always loves to play with great teammates in front of their intransigent supporters.
“I’m looking forward to putting a difficult summer behind me and concentrating on working hard to improve and help my teammates to be successful,” keeper added.
The other significant signings of Man. United this season includes Anthony Martial, who is set to make his debut in their forthcoming clash against Liverpool.
