Three Players Tottenham Must Sign This Month

Date:

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham currently find themselves in 6th-place on the Premier League table, 6 points away from 4th-placed Chelsea.

Judging by Chelsea’s form throughout the first-half of the season, there’s a solid chance that Tottenham could make it into the top four as long as they manage to hit a high level of consistency under Jose Mourinho.

To be consistent, though, Tottenham have to make some new signings lest they risk missing out on a top four finish.

On that note, here’s a look at three players Tottenham must sign this month;

Gareth Bale

Having spent the last six years in Real Madrid, Gareth Bale could make a return to the club he had his first real taste of stardom – Tottenham.

The Welshman has been unhappy at Real Madrid for a while and as a result, he’s been strongly linked with a return to Tottenham.

Considering Tottenham’s current situation, it would be the perfect time for Bale to make his return to Spurs as he’d be able to potentially help Spurs to secure a top four finish under Jose Mourinho.

Bale boasts incredible speed, technique and the ability to change a game in an instant. He’d be an excellent addition to Spurs’ lineup.

Jack Grealish

With 6 goals and 5 assists to his name for Aston Villa this season, Jack Grealish is one of the hottest talents in England at the moment.

The 24-year-old has been influential in Aston Villa’s battle to avoid relegation. Without Grealish’s efforts, Villa would be in the relegation zone right now.

In a team of Tottenham’s ilk, Grealish would have the opportunity to truly make his presence felt in the Premier League and possibly even on the European scene.

He draws parallels with Christian Eriksen who is poised to leave the club this month following interest from Inter Milan amongst other clubs.

From the looks of things, Spurs would benefit a great deal from acquiring Grealish’s services – however, it remains to be seen whether they will make a solid attempt to sign the young Englishman.

Emre Can

Emre Can Liverpool

Emre Can is currently out-of-favour at Juventus having played just 272 minutes of Serie A football this season. The former Liverpool man is linked with a move to Manchester United, but Tottenham could make an attempt to sign him in a bid to bolster their midfield going into the second half of the Premier League campaign.

Can boasts incredible defensive awareness as he’s able to constantly track runs and put himself in the right areas to cut passing lanes. He’d fit in excellently alongside Tanguy Ndombele in midfield.

There aren’t many players of his ilk available in January, so Spurs would do well to at the very least inquire about his services.
