Manchester United are weighing up a move for PSG striker Edison Cavani after player’s representatives approached the club to sound out their interest. According to ESPN sources, the Old Trafford club are now contemplating an official bid for the Uruguayan international.
Cavani was heavily linked to Manchester United last summer, and his agent has reportedly contacted the club hierarchy to know whether they’d still be interested if he became available.
The former Napoli striker joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2013 after three outstanding seasons at the, making 104 appearances and scoring 78 goals in the process. So far this season, the 28-year-old has made 22 appearances for PSG scoring 13 goals and chipping in 2 assists as well with an average rating of 6.48 per match.
The Uruguayan professional has scored 44 goals he in the 84 appearances he has made for the German club since joining the French club in 2013.
The Red Devils are suffering from acute goal drought this season having scored just 26 goals in 22 games thus far. Louis van Gaal desperately need another experienced goalscorer to bolster his attacking force and Edison Cavani seems to be the perfect solution. The prolific and versatile striker has also been a target for several top clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid.

De Guzman returns to Swansea
The Napoli midfielder Jonathan De Guzman will finish the season at Swansea City after joining the Welsh club as the Welsh club on a half-year loan deal.
The Netherlands international has returned to the club for a second spell; he spent two years at the Liberty Stadium on a 2-year loan deal from Villarreal in 2012. He made 71 appearances for the club scoring 9 goals in the process.
Guzman joined Napoli in August 2014 on a four-year contract and made an immediate impact for the club by scoring the winner in his debut against Genoa before scoring a hat-trick against Young Boys on his Europa League debut.
The 28-year-old has scored 3 goals in 11 appearances for the Serie A club.
With Swansea City languishing in the 17th position and just 1 point above the relegation zone, Jonathan’s arrival seems to be perfectly timed as the club will need his experience and versatility in a bid to improve their position on the League table.
Swansea’s is currently facing a severe victory drought as their midfielders are misfiring, and this could make Guzman land into the starting eleven straight away. The Swans need all his experience, goal scoring prowess and luck to escape dropping to the championship at the end of the season.
Ramirez To Replace Gundogan
Borussia Dortmund have identified Chelsea forward Ramirez as a potential replacement to Ilkay Gundogon, who is likely to leave the club by the end of January. The German box-to-box midfielder has caught the attention of several top clubs like Manchester United and Juventus with his outstanding performances in Bundesliga in recent years.
