In a hotly-contested rematch from last season’s UCL semifinal, Barcelona welcomed the formidable Juventus to the Nou Camp. As two domestic champions in their own right, this match was shaped out to be a clash of the titans’ affair. In the end, only one titan stood up, resulting in a 3-0 win for Barcelona. The commanding win sends them to the top of Group D, basically already confirming qualification.

Here are the main talking points of Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Juventus.

3Ousmane Dembele starts

Ousmane Dembele

In his first ever start for Barcelona, Ousmane Dembele put in a mixed performance. The Frenchman wasn’t particularly effective on the ball, but his movement off it was superb. He made intelligent off the ball runs that committed some of the Juventus defence, thus allowing Lionel Messi to roam free in the middle.

Dembele completed 100% of his take-ons but misplaced 8 passes in the final third. However, the width he provided opened up channels for his teammates, thus grading his performance as useful.
