Why Signing 6 Ft 1 Star Will Be a Good Move for Aston Villa and Liverpool

Date:

Aston Villa who was once giant of the Championship has suffered a decline, sitting in the 17th position with 18 points, seven points off the playoff spot and 11 points behind league leaders Sheffield United. The difference in points clearly shows something is off at Villa Park.

The Birmingham club axed and manager and replaced him with former Brentford manager Dean Smith, but the club has failed to overcome their inconsistency troubles. There are games where they score but look frail on the defence and there are games where they have their defence buckled but struggle to score.

The best example is last Friday’s 1-0 loss to QPR, where Smith’s men were presented with several opportunities to score but it just seemed beyond them. Hence, thinking that they need a ruthless striker up front is not crossing the line.

They should probably set their gaze on Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke and make a move for him in the January transfer window, here’s why:

Solanke’s lack of game time at Anfield

As per the Daily Mail, England U21 coach Aidy Boothroyd expressed his concerns over Dominic Solanke’s lack of game time at Anfield.

The 21-year-old played 27 games the previous season, but 21 of them were from the bench. He hasn’t even been on the bench for once this term.

Therefore, it is quite obvious that the young English man needs to be in action more often to prove his worth. Tammy Abraham is with Aston Villa, but he is there on a loan deal from Chelsea. The club needs someone of great propensity to lead the frontline on a regular basis and secure more points to propel them up the table.

Solanke can be the man to help the Birmingham club regain their status if they initiate a deal this winter. The future does not look too bright for the youngster at Liverpool because Daniel Sturridge is back fit and is supporting the Reds’ famed front three. Hence, the youngster should look to secure a better deal with another club where he can begin to reignite his career.

Aston Villa is historically a big club, who are just having a difficult time. The striker can move there, play more games and score goals to boost his confidence and career. If he remains consistent for a season or two, he could finally secure that big club move.

Dominic Solanke is just 21 and has the best of his career ahead of him. Leaving the top six club could just be the best move for him.

Scoring at will in the Championship would make him a hot prospect in the big market because he has the potential to become a top striker.

Villa would benefit by securing his signature in January before other potential suitors come trooping.
