In recent weeks the rapid Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore has been linked with a move to the North West of England, and the destination is Liverpool. With competition for a place in Jurgen Klopp’s front three close, would Traore bring in the required presence to challenge the regular front three?

In recent years, Liverpool have been exhilarating in attack and have provided goals upon goals in all competitions. The famous front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Mo Salah have all been consistent and devastating for the Merseyside club. However, past them three, the quality in depth is not as strong. Despite Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri’s talent, they do not challenge the three attackers previously mentioned to the extent where one of them might be dropped.

Klopp has been looking at ways of improving the frontline, and one of the names mentioned has been Traore; who has impressed during his time with Wolves. The former Barcelona man has scored four goals this year, but his raw pace and strength set him apart. Some claim he is the fastest player in the world, and former teammate Cyrus Christie feels he is not even running full pace!

Some have wondered if a more out and out striker is needed but Klopp likes his three attackers to play with freedom. He requires them to drift out wide or play through the middle when required. But more importantly he demands that his players put in the extra effort. Traore fits that bill.

However, he is more than just a quick strong player, he is skilful as well. He manages to wriggle his way out of a situation when other players may not. The tenacity to keep hold of the ball will certainly appeal to Klopp and his never say die attitude will really please the German coach.

If he is to join Liverpool and challenge the front three effectively then he will have to add more goals to his game. Despite enjoying a great season with seven assists and four goals, he will certainly have to up his game and accept the demands of playing for the Champions League holders.

However, Traore started his career with Barcelona and impressed whilst playing for Barcelona B, so he knows how a footballer should behave and how to use his skills to the best.
Traore would be a great fit for Liverpool and manager Jurgen Klopp will be able to take that rawness of the 24 year old and turn him into another cog in his Liverpool machine.
