Tottenham Hotspur are no longer a laughing stock in the Premier League. For the last two seasons, they were perhaps the best club in England, but have nothing to show for it. Losing points here and there, they lost their best chance to win the Premier League—twice.
And now, with Manchester City being at their rampant best, it seems unlike for Tottenham to ever make a claim for the top spot of the Premiership—at least for the foreseeable future. Currently, they are at 6thon the table and are 22 points behind league-leaders City and could lose out on a top 4 finish this season.
And here are 5 reasons why they are trailing.
1Stadium
While having one’s own stadium is a big deal, it also holds back a club in more than one way. The first being the financial aspect of things that we have already spoken of. However, things run far beyond just that.
Right now, Tottenham are having to play their home games at Wembley, a ground where they don’t really have an excellent record. As a result, Spurs are actually playing home games away from a proper ‘home’.
