The Premier League is stronger than ever, and we expect plenty of excitement on both top and bottom of the table going into the next season. For some teams on this list, the relegation battle will begin with the start of the season, and although it’s too early to talk about it, these clubs could find it hard to secure their Premiership status.
2. Sunderland
David Moyes will try to bring stability into his new club, but will face a turbulent first year at Sunderland, and should be happy if the Black Cats avoid relegation this season. Sam Allardyce managed to save them last year, and unless Moyes strengthens his squad by the end of the month, Sunderland is destined for another tough campaign.
Moyes did bring in Papy Djilobodji, Paddy McNair, and Adnan Januzaj, but the big question is whether these players possess enough quality and spark to keep Sunderland afloat in the top flight. The Scotsman is still not done with transfer business, and we could see some more faces joining in the coming weeks, but prospects don’t look bright with the squad he currently has.
