Five EPL Teams That Will Likely Battle for Relegation This Season

The Premier League is stronger than ever, and we expect plenty of excitement on both top and bottom of the table going into the next season. For some teams on this list, the relegation battle will begin with the start of the season, and although it’s too early to talk about it, these clubs could find it hard to secure their Premiership status.

1. Swansea City

Francesco Guidolin is an excellent manager and should avoid the relegation this year, but the departures of Andre Ayew (the club’s top scorer in 2015/16) and the captain Ashley Williams could have a devastating impact on the Liberty Stadium outfit. Swansea bought Borja Baston from Atletico Madrid for a club record fee of £15.5 million, and also added Fernando Llorente to replace Ayew.

The Swans finished in a respectable 12th place last season, but it looks highly unlikely that they can retain their position this time around. Guidolin is experienced enough to get the most out of his players, and will be heavily relying on midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. The defence will be exposed without Williams, though, and that will be Swansea’s biggest problem.
