Why Marcus Rashford should turn deaf ears to Juventus

Date:

According to the Sun, England and Manchester United youngster, Marcus Rashford is on Juventus’ radar. The Italian club has been keeping a close watch on the 20-year-old, who found the net in his country’s 3-2 triumph over Spain during the recent international break.

The forward was even an integral part of the Red Devil’s 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge. However, he has failed to make an impression on Jose Mourinho.

According to a report, Juve chiefs apparently highly regards the 20year-old and believes he has all it takes to reign at the highest level and become a great player. They now seem ready to make a bid for the starlet in the coming future.

Rashford’s contract with Manchester United is still valid till 2020, with an option to increase that stay by a year. Hence, the club will try all possible means to prevent the youngster from heeding to the call of the foreign club. But will a move break or make the player’s career? We take a look.

Rashford has a better chance to shine at Old Trafford.

It has become a norm for young English players to look to ply their trade abroad, to further hone their skills and boost their curriculum vitae.

Jadon Sancho is a good example. The teenager had his talent struggling under the shadow of top players at Manchester City, hence, he transferred to Borussia Dortmund and now he is making waves at the German club. This even earned him a call-up to the England squad earlier this month.

Rashford is already capped for England and has bagged more goals for his country than club. This explains the irregularity with which Mourinho selects him. The forward is still very much young and has better years ahead of him.

A move to Juventus could prove disastrous for him, partly because of the position in which he plays. The Old Lady already boasts of Paulo Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mario Mandzukic and other in their squad and they are all forwards. Therefore, it will be extremely difficult for the 20-year-old to catch a glimpse of the first-team at the Italian capital.

It would be better for him to stay and compete for his regular spot at the Theatre of Dreams, score goals and boost his confidence. Rashford should know he can become a force to reckon with at United if he stays and strive hard to get better week after week.
